Yay! I’m happy to be part of The Romance Reviews Fall Into Romance Blog Hop! I know–me and romance, right? That’s like saying de Sade had a soft side. Well, maybe he did. How do you know? Anyway. No, I’m not a huge fan of HEA, am decent comrades with HFN, but am mostly fond of UBC (Under the Best of Circumstances). I like a healthy dose of reality in my stories, and, well, a lot of drama and psychology. But hey–you say romance, I say fuck yeah, so it all works out, n’est-pas?
That said, my latest release, The Fangirl’s Dream from Decadent Publishing’s 1NS series is as close as I come to sweetness, which is to say, there are still a few jagged edges. In revisions, even my editor gave flip commentary to its light tone, in her notes. Reading between the lines, the backstory is still fairly fraught with drama, even pain, though the fantastical way Siler and Farraj find each other distracts from that fact. You might even say it neutralizes it, and makes the story of how they make the smokin’ bangin’ best of what they have, without knowing where it will go.
Ultimately, if you like your stories on the edge, and your characters mad for each other, what more romance could you need?
About The Fangirl’s Dream
Siler Dunham would do anything to have Farraj Reza, hero of the smash network TV drama, Endangered. Every week she tunes in to watch him calculate the rescue of fellow bus crash survivors trapped deep in the jungle by a ruthless drug lord. A federal public defender with a penchant for saving the unsavable, she can’t resist his sad story, or his badass charm. When she seeks a matchmaking service to meet him, their one night stand isn’t what she expected. Forced to choose between unbridled lust and compassion, Siler must forgo her fantasy… or mustn’t she?
