‘Girl on Fire,’ they say.

I’m the one who set her aflame, and I don’t mean just the dress.

They wanted her tamed, contained. To overcome that, unconditional affection, unwavering adoration, and belief in herself were what she needed–not from a starving family or love-sick boy.

She needed a lover who could stoke her strength, enliven the cinders of her will, and reflect power back to her through the binds, the bruises, the trembling, and her mouth crying, “More.”

She gave me everything; I gave her my heart.

She’s the Girl on Fire. I’m the one who won’t survive.

Just imagine the guy in the image darker 😉

  1. Amazing flash. I loved it and was drawn in with your writing. I loved the way you turned things round at the end so we realise she is not really the victim as first led to believe. So much emotion in 100 words

  2. Oh my good God, Fierce, that was simply FIERCE! How intense. Sexual, scorching, erotic, igniting controlled yet explosive. That was the best piece of writing I have read in a very long time. And to think, you saw all that in one golden eye. Unbelievable, Fierce, and I cannot pull out just ONE phrase that I am partial to as the entire chain of interlocking words is brilliant. Outstanding 🙂 xo

  3. I can’t believe all you wrote in this single flash. What he sees in his eye, the fire and her, was sexually thrilling. Amazing flash. Very well done.
